new sponsors for August

It is the fourth month of Final Fashion‘s sponsorship program and I continue to be delighted with its development.  Interested in sponsorship?  Please get in touch!  August brings two new sponsors to the sidebar.  Allow me to introduce you…

Fresh Collective is a designer-run boutique at 692 Queen Street West in Toronto.  The shop was launched by Laura-Jean the knitting queen, who I last met in Fresh Baked Goods, her knitwear boutique in Kensington Market when I was just a fashion student.  I remember being impressed with her knitting machines and buying a shaggy shrug.  Years later it is such a thrill to learn that Laura-Jean is familiar with Final Fashion and offered her enthusiastic support.  Fresh Collective features the work of 25 local designer-entrepreneurs who besides sharing retail space share a feel-good, body-friendly and retro-fun aesthetic.

Pink Lady is actually three ladies based in Windsor, Ontario who have teamed up to offer several services for designer-entrepreneurs and apparel companies.  Christy Litster is a fellow Ryerson fashion ’06er.  At school Christy and I were sometimes team-mates and sometimes friendly competitors – she’s a talented designer who won the prestigious Barbie fashion design competition with a gorgeous Inuit inspired gown.  After school she went on to become a professional doll designer and later on head designer at a uniform company.  For Pink Lady, Christy offers her talents as a designer and illustrator.  Company founder Lori Moore and patternmaker Heather Hobbs provide prototyping, production patternmaking and grading services.

Plus… encore applause for returning sponsors!

  • Fashion Crimes – fabulous dresses and accessories from the queen of crinolines, Pam Chorley, available only in downtown Toronto.
  • PunkMedics – stripped-down simple skincare for vegans and other sensitive souls, shipped worldwide.
  • John Met Betty – one of a kind, vintage inspired clutches in candy colours, shipped worldwide.
  • Juma – too cool clothes for savvy sisters and brothers, available at select boutiques and online, shipped worldwide.

Thanks to all the sponsors and extra appreciation to Final Fashion‘s readers for supporting the businesses that help support this site.  You all rock – thanks for making this site so much more than just me.
